Thinking outside of the box for effective social media marketing. It is almost a commandment….Be original when making social media post. Sometimes it is not required. I may re-post something I got from one of my favorite sites. But for the most part is is better to be original.

Some business owners think that in order to take advantage of social media marketing all you need to do is create an account with one of the social media gaints like Facebook, or Twitter. Put up a LinkedIn profile and add Google Plus. AND….WAM! good to go. Well……. it ain’t quite that easy. If you really want to get something out of social media……….bring something to the table. In other word you gotta give something of value to get something of value. That is the key to success no matter what you are trying to do. Building a list, getting traffic, finding clients, or social media marketing. Give To Get. That is how you get and build a following of loyal clients, fans and customers.

Leveraging the power of content and social media marketing can help elevate your audience and customer base in a dramatic way. But getting started without any previous experience can be quite challenging. It’s vital that you understand social media marketing fundamentals.

First of all you must realize social media is not a quick-fix. You cannot post two or three items and expect people to come running. Social media and content marketing success doesn’t happen overnight. While it’s possible to catch lightning in a bottle, it’s far more likely that you’ll need to commit to the long haul to achieve results. If you want to make your campaigns a success it takes time, commitment, consistency and effort. If you are not willing to invest those four things in social media…. forgetaboutit, you will not fill your business needs. If you don’t have the time to do it right, hire someone to do it for you. The small investment will payoff in the long run.

Social media marketing is a commitment that cannot be avoided or ignored.

However, don’t let that put you off because the rewards for your investment and time are well worth it.

Studies show that you are most likely to generate leads, close business deals and find partnerships on platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and the other social media sites. IF you invest the time to make it work. Patience is crucial so don’t give up after a short time. It might not happen overnight, and it does take hard work but you won’t regret it.

Use Images and Multimedia

They say a picture paints a thousand words ….and a video more! Your followers expect to see pictures and video so make good use of multi-media to engage them and keep them interested.

Nobody, I mean Nobody, Cares What You Had For Breakfast. It don’t have to be Ripley’s Believe it or Not, but at least make it interesting. To get people to listen to you, you have to contribute something of value for them. If your posts are boring, then…..well you know, booring is boooring and you will be ignored.

Think about it: Why would anybody take advice from somebody who doesn’t know anything and just posts useless trivia about what they are doing that day? Quite simply, if you got nothing to say, then don’t say nothing. Keep your posts fresh and consistent.
